Night & Day - a Cole Porter Ballet - Show

The ballet, Night & Day, will express the ageless appeal of Cole Porter's music in dance. Choreographers Robin Van Wyk, Mervyn Williams, Kirsten Isenberg, Paul Johnson and Nigel Lucas have complemented Porter's sophisticated and whimsical melodies with their individual charm and characters.

Cole Porter was a legendary American composer of some of the cleverest, funniest and most romantic songs ever written. He dominated the musical scene from the 1930's to1950's and his music is just as popular today as it was then. The Cape Town City Ballet pays tribute to Cole Porter in Night & Day, and includes favourite songs like Lets Misbehave, Too Darn Hot and Night and Day.

Celeste George and Alrico Lieman dance a romantic pas de deux to the well known Lets do it, lets fall in love, while Lauren Rogers leads the men in the cheeky ensemble number, Miss Otis Regrets. Up and Coming young saxophonist, Sarah Elphick, joins the Cape Town City Ballet on stage to accompany selected numbers, including  a saxophone solo rendition of In the Still of the Night. Directed by Robin Van Wyk, Night & Day is a delightful combination of romance and elegance with a touch of light hearted charm.
