After having been awarded the top prize at the celebrated Artur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in 2008, the Taiwanese pianist Ching-Yun Hu was described as follows by a critic: “She creates the same tension as Brendel, possesses the lyric qualities of Perahia and the depth of Barenboim. Are we witnessing the birth of the new Martha Argerich?” Ching-Yun Hu, who has also been described as “a pianist with the soul of Chopin”, will play Beethoven's majestic Waldstein Sonata, Liszt's Spanish Rhapsody, as well as a number of transcriptions of Schubert Lieder.
