CT Tango Ensemble
CT Tango Ensemble, a group of musicians who have been performing together locally for approximately 15 years. The ensemble plays everything tango-related, from the traditional tango to more contemporary tango’s such as those of Astor Piazzolla.
The ensemble also plays the work of other contemporary composers, as well as their own tango music fused with Cape jazz and other Latino influences. In the latter case, the violin is replaced by a saxophone. The instruments therefore are a bandoneon or accordion, a saxophone or clarinet, a piano and a double bass. And remember, this music is best enjoyed when danced!
