Cox & Newman - Return of the Road Warriors - Concert
Steve Newman and Tony Cox are playing together again! After their tour of the UK in 2005 they agreed to take a break after over two decades of constant touring together. They both have long and distinguished careers as soloists. Both have received multiple awards down through the years and each has collaborated with a small army of other finely honed musicians not only from SA but from all over the world.
The duo, though, has a special place in the hearts and minds of folks who have seen them in concert. Their irreverent approach to old classics in particular is legendary and has tickled the ribs of a multitude spanning three generations. Indeed, their shows are unique in that their jaw-dropping guitar skills can attract three generations of the same family! The shows promise to be an incendiary series of guitar nights like no other, delivered by two masters of the guitar performing a mix of their side-splitting golden oldies together with new material.
This series of concerts then, is a celebration of not only their musical reunion, and a staggering 30 years of performance together, but also of their back-to-back birthdays; Tony's is the 24th of January – the day the concerts begin – and Steve's is the 25th. Come and celebrate ,,,
