Absa KKNK Festival

Oudtshoorn Oraloor, our programme of environment-specific art and performances that literally incorporate the beautiful Klein Karoo as stage and canvas. It will also include International collaboration and co-productions between well-known South African festivals and theatres Klap!, their exciting package of shows, workshops and art experiences for Grade 10 and 11 learners.

Initially an Afrikaans-only culture event, the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK) in Oudtshoorn has evolved into a multi-cultural and multi-lingual arts festival. It plays host to an enormous amount, and huge variety, of South African artists. Some of these have included Koos Kombuis, Valiant Swart, Johnny Clegg, Miriam Makeba, Jack Hammer, Johannes Kerkorrel and Anton Goosen to name but a few. There are also art exhibitions, lectures and discussions.
