Klipdrift Battle of the Bands 2012
If you’re consumed with dreams of being a rock star and have a garage band that you believe could give the Rolling Stones a run for their money, then the Klipdrift Battle of the Bands is for you.
Launched at Carnival City’s Sport Showbar at the beginning of February, the competition will run until 20th April. Every Tuesday night a total of eight bands will be given the opportunity to take to the stage to show what they can do. Each band will be expected to play one original song and one cover.
In total, the competition allows for 80 entries, from which the judges will select 10 to play in the semi-final rounds. The final five will face each other in the finals, set to take place in the Carnival City Mardi Gras Theatre on 20th April. Joining them on stage will be a renowned international band.
There is R20 000 in cash up for grabs and a recording deal with R100 000 for the winning band.
